Regardless of the actions of his "cluelessness-in-chief" …

or his lack of action, or ineffective actions:

In a new overture to Iran, the Obama administration has authorized U.S. embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4th.

Granted this was broached before the current state of upheaval going on in Iran right now.  But to the best of my knowledge, the idea hasn’t been squelched.  Was this offer also open to either Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or perhaps his opposition?  ( Yes, my tongue is planted in my cheek)

It seems with each passing day, the current resident-in-chief shows even more ignorance, stupidity, naivete, or all the above, in his actions, or speech.  I get the feeling he really is more comfortable in going to the ice cream parlor, the golf course, or even the bowling alley, then in attempting to actually, you know, LEAD this nation.  Or in advancing our interests and objectives throughout the world.  And by extention, addressing those who actively seek to thwart us in  achieving same.

There have been a number of folks who have suggested we should not do anything this coming fourth.  That we should forgo the picnics, the sales, the nighttime displays of thunder and sparkle,  all the things which have become part of the rhythm, the pulse of summertime in America.

Regardless of what happens in and around the cesspool which is D.C.  Regardless of what may happen in any of our diplomatic circles around the world (in their potential inter-action with Iranian agents).  I think it would be better served if we spend this day in remembrance of what was, and what yet needs to be done.  Spend this day honoring those who presented us with a constitutional republic 233 years ago, along with those who fought and died to preserve same throughout the same time frame.

UPDATE  Apparently, the the invites still stand!!  What a bunch of … damn, words escape me … Satan is truly laughing with delight.
